God’s Initiative Love
The Lord your savior “is rich in mercy” and pours out “great love” toward us. His affection is the source, not the response, of our devotion.
The Lord, rich in mercy and delights in all who love Him; and those who rise early and seek Him earnestly will surely find His presence.
The fact is that while pursuing wisdom is a path to understanding, salvation is a gift of grace from a God who loves us. We love Him because He first loved us. This distinction shows that while there are principles of cause and effect in the world, God's love and salvation operate on a different, higher level of grace.
