The Unshakeable Attributes Of God’s Word

Sustained and Unmovable In Jesus Christ

1 Thessalonians 3:13 To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

Established Until The End

Paul’s prayer reaches beyond the circumstances of the present and looks toward the day when Christ will return. His desire is that your heart would be established, made firm, strengthened, settled, and secure so that you might stand before God in justified when Jesus Christ comes.

The Christian life is not simply about beginning well; it is about being established until the end.

There will be moments when your faith is tested, moments when you are weary, disappointed, tempted, or uncertain. There will be seasons when everything around you seems to be changing. But Paul prays that, through all of it, God will establish your heart.

The Purpose of Establishment

The phrase "to the end" signals Godly purpose and intention. God's work in stabilizing your heart is not accidental or incidental to your faith; it is the very aim and direction of His grace. Just as a builder drives pilings deep into the earth to withstand storms and earthquakes, God works to establish your heart so that you might remain unmoved by the shifting uncertainties of life by doubt, by fear, by the deception of this world.

Unblameable in Holiness

Notice the standard the Holy Ghost sets: your heart is to be established "unblameable in holiness." This speaks to integrity and spiritual devotion.  It is the holiness of genuine transformation, not mere outward performance.

Your Name Is Written There

Listen to what the Holy Ghost is really asking you to hear: God is actively at work to make you unshakeable. Not someday not just in heaven but now, in this very moment of your life, even as you read these words. That anxiety that grips you? That failure you can't forget? That whisper of doubt that says God could not possibly love someone like you? These do not have the final word over your soul.

Christ has already secured your salvation. His blood has already washed you clean. Your name is already written in the Lamb's Book of Life. And the Holy Spirit, who dwells within you, is even now at work firming your resolve, deepening your roots, anchoring your soul in truths that cannot be shaken. You have been established. Not by your own strength or willpower, but by the power of Jesus Christ who spoke the universe into being and who loves you with an everlasting love.

The Change

You no longer have to carry the crushing weight of wondering if you are enough or if your flaws have disqualified you from grace. The shaking in your soul has stopped because Jesus Christ has anchored you in a love that cannot be moved. This is the miracle of your salvation: that you are being shaped into something steady, held fast by a hand that will not let you go. One day, the horizon will break open and the wait will be over. You will be changed, at the sound of the last trump of our Lord Jesus Christ, translated alongside all his saints.

Grafted In And Resting In The Root

Grafted Into The Olive Tree

Romans 11:16 For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.

The Firstfruit

In the imagery of firstfruits, we are taken back to ancient worship, where the earliest portion of a harvest was set apart and offered to God. This “firstfruit” was not merely symbolic; it was consecrated, belonging wholly to God, and therefore representing the sanctification of the whole harvest that followed. The logic if the first portion is holy, set apart, for service to God, then the entire “lump,” the whole mass that follows, is regarded in relation to that sanctified beginning.

If the firstfruit is holy, meaning the initial portion of the harvest is consecrated to God, then the entire lump is also holy. This applies to Christ Himself, who is the firstfruit of the resurrection. Because He is holy, sinless, undefiled and separate from sinners, those who are united with Him by his blood are also made holy. The firstfruit, then, represents the forerunner or the guarantee of what is to come. Just as the firstfruit ensured the blessing of the entire harvest, Christ’s resurrection ensures the future resurrection and sanctification of believers.

A Metaphor for Spiritual Heritage and Inclusion

"and if the root be holy, so are the branches." Here, is the spiritual foundation of salvation and doctrine. The branches represent the descendants of this root, whether they are natural branches (Israel) or wild branches the church.

Power To Save

You are not an isolated entity, drifting aimlessly in the void, but a branch grafted into a story far older and deeper than your own. Consider how easily you weary, trying to cultivate your own holiness or manufacture your own worth from the dry dust of your failures. Yet, there is a root, a foundation of absolute, abounding grace, that has already been declared holy on your behalf. Because that Root was set apart, you do not have to struggle to reach for a righteousness you cannot attain; you only need to accept by the faith the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross… Your salvation is not found in how high you can climb or how much fruit you can force your own brittle hands to produce; it is found in the quiet, desperate realization that you are tethered to the only source that can sustain you until death or until Jesus returns.

If you need help attempting to understand this idea of salvation please do not hesitate to leave a comment and someone will get back to you.

Putting Off The Old And Putting On The New

Putting On The New Man

Colossians 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

The Holy Ghost speaking through the pen of the Apostle Paul is imploring you to put on the new man.  This new man is renewed by and through the knowledge of God through his holy word. In this short verse there is both command and transformation, and the central action is contained in the phrase “put on.”

The Weight of “Put On”

To put on is an intentional act. It is the language of clothing yourself. No one accidentally puts on a garment; it requires a conscious movement of the will. In the same way, the Holy Ghost describes the believer deliberately clothing himself with a new nature.

The old man—the former pattern of thinking, reacting, desiring, and living—must be laid aside like worn and soiled garments. Pride, bitterness, corruption of thought, selfish ambition, and the blindness of the old life cannot remain when the new life is embraced. They do not belong to the wardrobe of the new man.

The Process of Change

The renewal in knowledge acts as a catalyst, allowing you to embody qualities such as compassion, kindness, humility, and love. This is not merely about surface changes but a core evolution that reflects a deeper awareness of what it means to exist in unity with one another and the divine.

Your New Identity

Clothing is both public and private. The “new man” is inwardly formed—renewed in knowledge—but “put on” makes it outwardly manifest. The renewal of the mind shapes speech, conduct, relationships, and witness to others. The image of the Creator becomes the pattern: the new garment is tailored after the One who made you, so the transformation is restorative (returning you to intended form) and formative (shaping you toward a likeness).

Finally, “put on” acknowledges temporality and realism. Clothes wear, get dirty, and need replacing; spiritual formation is ongoing, subject to wear and to renewal. The phrase therefore invites vigilance: keep dressing yourself each day in the attitudes and choices that reflect the renewed mind—image of God.

Sin Exchanged For Salvation

From Sin to Holiness

Romans 4:8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin

Your Clear Account

This verse speaks to a fundamental principle of grace and redemption. To impute means to attribute or reckon something to someone's account. In this context, it refers to God's act of not charging you with sin specifically after you have accepted the free gift of Jesus Christ.

The Holy Ghost elaborates on this concept in Romans 4:6-8, quoting the psalm and explaining how righteousness is reckoned apart from works. He emphasizes that this blessing comes through faith, not through maintaining a set of rules, or being really good, or perfect law-keeping.

Imputation of Righteousness

The counterpoint to non-imputation of sin is the imputation of righteousness. This means that not only are sins not counted against you when you believe, but Christ's perfect righteousness is actually credited to your account. It's a divine exchange where your sinfulness is replaced with Christ's righteousness.

Summation

The psalmist’s proclamation that “the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin” is blessed underscores a foundational biblical principle: righteousness is bestowed not by human achievement but by Jesus Christ completed work, “it is finished” put to your credit. When God chooses to forgo counting sin against you, He simultaneously imputes righteousness, granting you a status of justified before Him. This holy accounting forms the basis for the believer’s assurance of standing justified before God.

A New Creature In Christ And Free From Sin

Romans 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

Expounding on Freedom in the Passage

The passage highlights the profound transformation that occurs when you accept the free and perfect gift of Jesus Christ. Being made free from sin denotes your liberation from the bondage and curse of sin. This freedom creates a new identity, a son of God, a servant of God, driven by faith, hope and charity.

The Role of Servitude

Serving God is presented as a choice that leads to spiritual fulfillment. This service cultivates fruit unto holiness, indicating that your life must adhere to spiritual virtue and righteous living. The term "fruit" suggests tangible outcomes.

The Guarantee of Everlasting Life

Finally, the phrase "the end everlasting life" encapsulates the ultimate gift the relief from the punishment of sin: assured eternal life. This notion extends beyond mere existence; it represents where your action of faith leads to lasting joy and peace.

In summary, the passage presents a theological chain: freedom from sin → service to God → fruit of the spirit → eternal life. Your choice to lead a fruitful life must be characterized by holiness, faithfulness and a love for God’s word.

The Bible stands...

 The Bible stands...

as the inspired and preserved Word of God an infallible, unwavering standard of truth.

In sharp contrast, human feelings and knowledge are inherently unstable. Emotions are fickle, fleeting, and deeply subjective an unreliable compass for navigating life. They cloud judgment, distort reality, and often justify choices that run counter to God’s good, acceptable, and perfect will.

Similarly, human wisdom, though it may offer glimpses of insight, remains limited and flawed. The intellect of man cannot grasp the depth of God’s prophecies or his mysteries (Isaiah 40:12; Jeremiah 31:37; 1 Corinthians 1:21). No amount of logic, reasoning or scholarship can chart a path to salvation apart from God's inspired revelation.

By contrast, Scripture offers a consistent, unchanging, and absolute truth, a truth that transcends cultural trends and personal biases. It is not merely a source of guidance; it is the ultimate authority, the final witness. Where human whimsy shifts like sand, the Bible provides a Rock-solid foundation—for life, for death, and for eternity.
