The Silent And Sure Justice of God

The Assurance

Ecclesiastes 8:12 Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him:

  • Prolonged Life of the Sinner:

    • We must acknowledges that sinners may live long lives despite their evil deeds. This observation highlights the apparent injustice in the world where the wicked often seem to prosper and escape immediate consequences for their actions.

  • God’s Justice:

  • Fear of God:

    • The term "fear God" in this context means to be in obedience and righteous. It is not a fear of punishment but a profound awe and respect that guides one's actions.

Practical takeaway

Final Reflection

Ecclesiastes 8:12 teaches that sin’s persistence does not erase God’s justice. Though evil may seem to flourish, and sinners may enjoy long days, their time is measured. The true measure of life is not duration, but relationship to God. In the end, justice will be rendered: Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
