The Ultimate Seal of Approval

When God Places the Gospel in Your Hands

1 Thessalonians 2:4 But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.

God’s Allowance

The Holy Ghost of God notes that you are "allowed of God." Meaning being tested and found fit for the Lord’s service.

  • Before you ever speak to anyone, you must realize that you have already been audited by God. Your standing is not based on your popularity," but based upon the approval of the Lord

The Trust of the Gospel

The phrase “put in trust with the gospel” carries profound significance. It denotes the God given assignment, the blessed responsibility entrusted to you and other believers. To be “put in trust” means that God has chosen you as a steward of the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ—the good news. This is not merely a privilege, but an enormous confidence God places in you.

Your Role as Stewards

When you are put in trust with the gospel, you become the bearers of a transformative message and power that changes lives. It’s a call to action and authenticity; you speak not to please men but to honor the Lord. This distinction is crucial. In a world so often driven by the quest for approval and acceptance, your true value lies in your commitment to convey the message that Jesus saves, with integrity and sincerity.

The Sacred Trust

To be "put in trust with the Gospel" is the highest level of security clearance in the Kingdom of God.

  • The Deposit:  You are a guardian of the "sound words". You do not have the authority to edit the blueprint, dilute the message, or soften the "quickening" power of the truth to suit the listener.
  • The Audience of One: Because the trust comes from God, the accountability remains with the Lord. Paul makes it clear: the goal is "not as pleasing men." Men's opinions are shifting sand; God's heart is the "plumb line."

The Heart of the Matter

The Lord examines your motivations, seeking authenticity. This search for truth reflects His love and desire for you to genuinely represent Him. Your task is to give or impact the grace, mercy, and charity found in the gospel of Jesus Christ, untainted by the fleeting expectations of human approval. It invites you to reflect its power in your life.

The Light in Your Hands

You must understand that the Gospel you carry is not a fragile thing that requires your protection; To be put in trust with this message is to hold the only power in the universe capable of raising the dead.

When you speak, you are not merely sharing a philosophy or a nostalgic tradition. You are proclaiming the "quickening spirit" of Jesus Christ into the dark and "regions beyond" to the sinners soul. The Gospel is the unbreakable grip of God reaching through your voice to pull a drowning soul to shore.

You do not have to worry about being "enough" for the task, for the power is not in the messenger—it is in the Message. Let the fear of man fall away in the light of Jesus Christ light the way.

The Gospel

1 Corinthians 15:3  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
