The King Who Needed Nothing but Gave Everything

 The Honour Jesus Deserves

1 Timothy 1:17 stands as one of the most majestic exaltations in the King James Bible, a sudden eruption of praise from the Apostle Paul as he reflects on the overwhelming mercy and grace God showed him:

I Timothy 1:17 “Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen."

Jesus Christ Stands Alone

This is one of Scripture's most sublime declarations—a proclamation that cuts through all the noise and confusion of human existence and focuses entirely on who God truly is and what He deserves. It is not a prayer asking for something. It is a declaration of worth, a recognition of reality itself. And within it lies everything you need to understand about honour, glory, and why Jesus Christ demands our absolute devotion.

The King Eternal

Eternal means He exists outside of time—He was never born, never came into being, and will never cease to exist. While your life feels so immediate, so urgent, so temporary, Jesus Christ is beyond all of that. He is not influenced by the trends of this age or the fashions of this moment. He does not age, grow weaker, or wonder what comes next. He simply is…

The Immortal King

Immortal speaks to something death cannot touch. Jesus Christ conquered death. He went into it and came out the other side, proving that death has no final say. This isn't abstract theology, it means death could not keep Him, and if you belong to Him, death cannot keep you either.

While everything in this world is temporary, your possessions will crumble, your body will fail, your achievements will be forgotten, Jesus Christ offers something that lasts. He offers you life that continues beyond the grave, a victory that cannot be reversed, a hope that death itself cannot extinguish.

The Invisible King

Invisible is perhaps the most challenging attribute to grasp in our visual, material age. We want to see. We want proof. We want Jesus to be as tangible as the things we can touch. But the passage boldly declares that His invisibility does not diminish His reality it enhances it. He is more real than anything you can see because He exists on a plane of reality beyond the physical.

Think about what you cannot see but absolutely know is real: gravity, love, conscience, time, meaning. The deepest realities of existence are invisible. Jesus Christ is the same way. He works in ways you do not fully understand, through means you can't always perceive, accomplishing purposes that will not be fully revealed until eternity. And yet His effects are everywhere in transformed hearts, in miracles large and small, in the persistent hope of the redeemed, in the way He sustains all things.

Honour and Glory—What You Owe

Honour means recognition of supreme worth. When you honour Jesus, you are declaring that He matters more than your comfort, your reputation, your plans, your safety. You're putting Him first because He actually is first not in your life, but in reality itself.

Glory is the radiance of His perfection the brilliance of His holiness, wisdom, power, and love combined into something overwhelming and magnificent. To ascribe glory to Him is to say: I see who You truly are: You are more beautiful, more powerful, more wise, more worthy than anything I have ever encountered.

These are not just nice religious sentiments. They are the proper response of a creature to the Creator, of the saved to the Saviour, of the mortal to the Immortal King.

A Word Spoken Directly to You

Stop for a moment and imagine standing before the King described in this verse. Not a king with a crown that will tarnish, not a king who sits on a throne that can be overthrown, but the King eternal, immortal, invisible the one before whom all of human history is like a single breath, before whom all earthly power is like candlelight in the face of the sun.

And here's what breaks through all the cosmic majesty:

Jesus Christ, this King eternal, stepped into time. The immortal God became mortal. The invisible One made Himself visible in human flesh. He walked into your suffering, your shame, your sin, and He did not turn away. He died bearing the weight of everything that was destroying you.

The King who needed nothing chose to give everything to rescue someone like you someone who did not deserve it, could not earn it, couldn't repay it. He did it anyway.

Because here is the secret: when you finally accept to the King eternal, Jesus Christ, when you stop fighting and obey the Living Word of God who actually is in control, you do not lose yourself you find yourself in Him. You find peace that makes no sense in a world like this. You find a home in the heart of the only Person who will never leave you, never abandon you and his promises are true.

Honour and glory to Jesus Christ, the King eternal, immortal, invisible not just for ever and ever in some distant heaven, but starting right now, in this very moment.

He Was Lifted Up for You

The Reach of the Savior

John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

Endured The Cross…

In John 12:32, Jesus speaks these profound words just days before His crucifixion, standing in the shadow of the cross. By using the phrase "lifted up from the earth," He is explicitly prophesying the manner of His death—referencing being raised up on a wooden cross.

In the immediate context, Jesus has just declared that the hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Like a kernel of wheat that must fall into the ground and die to produce a harvest, He must suffer, bleed, and die to accomplish redemption for you. In this passage, Jesus speaks of a paradoxical glory where his ultimate humiliation becomes his greatest victory. The phrase "lifted up from the earth" refers primarily to the crucifixion, the physical act of being raised upon the cross, but it also points toward his subsequent ascension and exaltation. The power of this moment lies in the promise that this act of sacrifice would "draw all men" to him.

Draw All Men Unto Me

  • The Universal Scope: The word "all" here dismantles ethnic, national, and social boundaries. Under the Old Covenant, the focal point of God's redemptive work was largely centered on Israel. Through the cross; however, Christ's gravitational pull extends across the entire globe, reaching every tribe, tongue, nation, and sinner, regardless of their past.
  • Love, Not Coercion: Christ does not draw humanity through mechanical force, political dominance, or tyrannical fear. Instead, He draws us through the supreme, self-sacrificial display of sacrificial love. The cross reveals the full depth of God's hatred for sin and His profound, unyielding affection for humanity. When people truly perceive the crucified Savior, bleeding, suffering, and interceding for His executioners, something deep within the human conscience is melted and magnetically drawn toward Him.
  • The Reconciliation: To be drawn to Christ is to be pulled out of the dark currents of rebellion, despair, and spiritual death, and anchored safely into the heart of God. It is the ultimate bridge built between a Holy Creator and a fallen creation.

The Eternal Invitation

Look at the cross. Look at the arms stretched wide, pinned to splintered wood not merely by iron nails, but by an unshakeable, relentless love for your soul. He was lifted up so that no matter how deep the pit, how heavy your shame, or how far you have wandered, there is a Savior with His arms open wide, calling you.

And the question is no longer whether His invitation is open to you. It is.

The question is whether you will come.

You are free to come to Christ now. You do not need to wait until you are better, stronger, cleaner, or more deserving. You need only turn toward Him in faith and receive the mercy He offers.

The Savior is lifted up before you, His hands are extended, His grace is offered, and the way to salvation is open. Come to Him today.

The Choice Between Flesh and Faith

 The Battle Within Against Pride

Romans 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

How Self-Centredness Blocks Divine Connection

The statement "So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God" serves as one of the most sobering "hard stops" in the New Testament. It is a definitive boundary line between human effort and divine acceptance.

“The flesh" is not merely your skin, bones, or physical body.  No unsaved or unregenerated living human could ever please God. “The flesh" refers to you fallen human nature, the part of you that is self-centered, self-reliant, full of pride and has no fear of a Holy God.

  • The Body: A neutral vessel.
  • The Flesh: A rebellious orientation.

Your instincts guide you. Your appetites define you. Your identity is built on what you achieve, what you control, and what you can secure for yourself. Even your good deeds may still orbit around the gravity of self—seeking approval, security, recognition, or the quiet satisfaction of feeling morally superior.

The Problem of "Good" Works

Perhaps the most jarring implication is that even "good" things done "in the flesh" fail to please God.

Think of it like trying to grasp a handful of sand: the tighter you squeeze, the more it slips through your fingers. Similarly, when you try to please God through your own efforts and fleshly endeavors, you'll inevitably fall short. Your human nature is like a filter that taints even your best intentions, rendering them unacceptable to a holy God.

The Journey from Self-Sufficiency to Spirit-Led Living

God is not seeking polished versions of human self-sufficiency. He desires hearts that are alive to Him; hearts transformed by His Holy Spirit.

You are invited to a gravity stronger than your cravings. It asks not perfect performance but a reordering of love. Choose the path that loosens the grip of the flesh—repentance that is real, small acts of obedience, persistent prayer, and sacrificial love—and you will find that pleasing God becomes not an impossible burden but the truest shaping of your life. In that change, what once felt like loss becomes the opening of your life into mercy, purpose, and the deep, unshakable joy you were made to hold.

The Lord’s Cosmic Order

The Lord Unveiling the Universe

Job 38:33 Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?

The passage posed a profound question about the understanding and control of natural phenomena in the universe. Let's explore three natural phenomena that occur in space and the sky, and develop the understanding how they all operate at the direct order of the Lord.

1. Celestial Bodies and Orbits

Celestial bodies such as planets, stars, and moons follow precise orbits dictated by gravitational forces. For example, the Earth orbits the Sun in a nearly elliptical path, taking about 365.25 days to complete one revolution. The force of gravity regulates the distances, ensuring that each celestial body maintains its designated position. This intricate balance is maintained purely by the will of God.

2. Auroras

Auroras, often referred to as the Aurora Borealis or Aurora Australis, are spectacular light displays in polar regions, resulting from the interaction of the Earth's magnetic field with charged particles from the sun. When these solar particles collide with gases in the atmosphere, they produce vibrant colors like green, pink, and purple. This enchanting phenomenon reminds us of the forces of nature, entirely independent of human influence.

3. Eclipses

Solar and lunar eclipses represent another fascinating natural event. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, temporarily blocking sunlight. Conversely, during a lunar eclipse, the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon, casting a shadow on the lunar surface. These eclipses can only happen during specific alignments of the celestial bodies and happen predictably, based on the mechanics of our solar system, regardless of human activities.

Complexity is the Lord’s art

These natural phenomena are all governed by the ordinances that the Lord has set in motion, and are not influenced by human actions. The Earth's rotation, the Moon's orbit, and the Sun's energy output are just a few examples of the many factors that contribute to these events. None of them are affected by man’s authority; humans may observe, model, and sometimes respond to their effects, but he cannot set, control, or recreate these ordinances.

In conclusion, these natural wonders are a gift from God and a reminder of the vast and complex universe that the Lord’s Jesus Christ created.

Futile Escape to Mars

The marvel of Mars.

It is the rust-hued plains and Olympus Mons’s towering caldera, imagining what it would be like to escape Earth’s safe gravity and find refuge among the red sands. Yet even at its closest approach approximately 35 million miles from home—that distant world remains hung to the same cosmic canvas governed by the Creator’s hand.

Any illusion of refuge beyond our planet or even is some other plain is shattered in Psalm 139.

Psalm 139:8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there; if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

The psalmist's declares "Even there shall thy hand lead me" that the idea of escaping to a remote location is futile. A person could travel to the "uttermost parts of the sea," which to an ancient person was an unimaginable distance, and still, God would be there.

Perspective From Science

In astronomical terms, there is no “uttermost part” of space accessible to you that lies outside His dominion—no Lagrange point, no event horizon, no heliopause, no Martian valley.

Fleeing to Mars cannot remove you from God’s presence. The One who charts the elliptical paths of planets also knows our every intention and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).
