The Mediator Who Bore Your Frailty

No Other Mediator Can Reconcile Your Soul

Hebrews 2:16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham

The Identity of The Mediator

The passage from Hebrews 2:16 highlights a profound aspect of Jesus Christ's identity, emphasizing His role as the Mediator between God and man. It underscores that Jesus did not take on the nature of angels but rather became part of the human family, taking on the "seed of Abraham." This distinction is crucial as it speaks to the two natures of Jesus Christ: His divine nature and His human nature.

The Mystery of Christ

This verse points directly to the mystery of Christ’s two natures — fully God and fully man. He did not cease to be divine when He entered the world. The eternal Son remained what He always was: holy, uncreated, and equal with the Father. Yet in mercy, He also became truly human. He took upon Himself “the seed of Abraham,” meaning He entered the human family line. He accepted flesh, blood, weariness, sorrow, temptation, pain, and mortality.

Divine and Human Natures

  1. Divinity: As the Son of God, Jesus embodies the expressed image of God. He holds the authority and power of God, reflecting His perfect holiness, wisdom, and love. This divine nature allows Him to understand the majesty of God's creation and the weight of human transgressions.
  2. Humanity: By taking on the seed of Abraham, Jesus enters fully into the human experience. He knows joy and sorrow, pain, temptation and triumph. This human nature makes Him relatable and accessible, bridging the gap between God and man in a way that could not be achieved by any angelic being.

The Only Mediator

Through His unique dual nature, Jesus Christ stands as the only mediator for you; someone who can perfectly intercede on your behalf. His human experiences give Him empathy; while His divine authority grants Him the power to reconcile you to God. When you feel distant, lost, or unworthy, He invites you into restoration.

The Mediators Invitation

There is no other go-between who both truly shares your condition and is uniquely qualified to reconcile you to God. In Jesus Christ alone—fully God and fully man—your guilt is met by perfect obedience, your weakness by sustaining grace, and your alienation by the Mediator who is one with you and yet before the Father. So come to him: he is the only Mediator who has entered your life, borne your frailty, and opened the way for you to stand reconciled before God.

Eyewitnesses to Glory: The Risen Author of Life

From Execution to Exaltation: The Triumph of the Prince of Life

Acts 3:15 And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses

Understanding "The Prince of Life"

This phrase, drawn from Acts 3:15, carries profound theological and historical weight. "The Prince of life" is a title for Jesus Christ that emphasizes His supreme authority over existence itself. The word "prince" here doesn't suggest a subordinate ruler, but rather the almighty protector, sustainer of all life and the one who holds dominion over the very force of vitality that animates creation.

The Gravity of Sin

Killed the Prince of Life: This part of the passage refers to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, where He was put to death by the hands of those who did not recognize Him as the Source of life. His death, however, was not the end. You did not merely reject a teacher or silence a voice; your sins struck at the very source of life itself. The one who stood before you was not only innocent, not only righteous, but the very origin and author of all that breathes and lives. The “Prince of life” is not a title of honor alone; it is a declaration of essence. Life does not simply come from him…life is sustained by him.

The Reversal: Death Cannot Hold Life

Yet the passage immediately pivots to something extraordinary: "whom God hath raised from the dead." This is the pivot point. Death, which seemed to be the final word, was not. The Prince of life could not remain dead because death has no authority over its own source. God's resurrection of Christ is not merely a rescue or a restoration; it's a vindication of the sinless life of Jesus Christ and a demonstration of the power of God put on full display.

The raising of Christ demonstrates that life is ultimately indestructible. The very power that the killers thought they exercised—the power to end—was itself ended. They killed, but they could not keep dead the one they killed.

The Witness

We are witnesses.” Not philosophers debating an idea, not storytellers embellishing a legend—witnesses. Those who speak have seen, have known, have stood on the other side of despair and encountered something that could not be explained away. A witness does not only speak for themselves; A witness speaks so that others must decide. Because once testimony is given, silence is no longer neutral. Your testimony or statement must stand, truthful, verifiable,  immovable, echoing through time. It does not demand blind acceptance, but it does demand a response; because now, you have heard the testimony.

And you must decide what kind of witness you will become.

Opportunity to Know The Prince of Life

You stand at the crossroads of history and eternity, faced with the profound truth that the very Source of life, Jesus Christ, was killed, by sinful man, yet raised again by the power of God. You might wonder, what does this mean for you? It means that death is not the end; it means that forgiveness and new life are available to you. You have been given a chance to experience life in all its fullness, not just a fleeting existence but an eternal one that starts now and continues forever.

In the light of this, you are invited to embrace the life that Jesus offers. You can find forgiveness, peace, and purpose in Him. You are not just a passerby in the story of humanity; you are a participant in Jesus Christ narrative of love, sacrifice, and resurrection. You have the opportunity to know the Prince of Life personally and to let His life transform yours in ways you never thought possible.

The Lord’s Patience Towards Every Sinner

Psalm 51:13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

The Beauty of God’s Forgiveness

Throughout history, the Lord has shown immense patience, waiting for His people to turn from their wrongs and turn to Him. From the Israelites wandering in the desert to the story of the Prodigal Son, the Lord embodies an unwavering willingness to welcome every sinner.

The Need for Conversion

The Lord's patience with sinners underscores His merciful nature. The Lord continually reaches out, willing to forgive and restore. The Lord offers every sinner an opportunity to repent an opportunity to choose life. The Lord is long-suffering not willing that any should perish; redemption is available to you, regardless of your past actions.

"…and sinners shall be converted unto thee," emphasises the conversion or salvation of every sinner. The term "converted" implies a change of mind resulting in a change of heart: developing an aversion to sinful behaviour and a desire to walk aligned to biblical principles. This conversion is not just a superficial change but an internal transformation that creates a new creation in Christ Jesus impacting your thoughts, feelings, and actions.

  1. The Lord’s patience is transformative
  2. The Lord’s correction is your guidance
  3. Regeneration follows repentance

In every generation, the Lord’s patience stands as a testament to His abounding mercy and grace. His willingness to forgive and restore reveals a heart that longs for reconciliation. Just as He welcomed the prodigal son and guided the Israelites despite their failings, the Lord continues to call you and every sinner. Through the Lord’s patience and grace, every sinner is offered the hope of redemption and the opportunity to become a new creation in Christ.

The Exclusive Path of Salvation

How Can We Know the Way?

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Jesus Christ declares an absolute and unambiguous truth about salvation.

In his declaration, Jesus states:

    1. The Way: Jesus is saying that He is the path, the route, or the road that leads to the Father. He is the guide, the map, and the destination. This implies that there are many ways, paths, thoroughfares and philosophies that people may follow, but outside of Jesus Christ they will never lead to salvation or peace of with God.
    2. The Truth: Jesus is affirming that He is the embodiment of truth, the ultimate reality, and the standard by which all other truths are measured. In a world filled with differing ideologies, opinions, feeling and perspectives, Jesus declares that He is the walking, talking miracle working of truth…it is who he is it is his nature.
    3. The Life: Jesus states that He is the source of life, not just physical life, but eternal life. He is the one who gives life, sustains life, and restores life—and by him all things consist

The Comprehensive Nature of Christ's Role

The exclusivity of his claim is foundational for Christianity, inviting believers to place their trust in Jesus as the one and only Savior. His role as the way, the truth, and the life leaves no room for ambiguity—the pathway to the Father is exclusively through Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ is the singular, definitive path to reconciliation with God. This is not a message of exclusion, but of unprecedented grace - offering a direct, personal relationship with all who believe.

The Shepherd’s Mandate: Lead and Feed

The Lord's example to his leaders

Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

The tender Shepherd who leads his sheep to green pastures and still waters, restoring their souls and guiding them along paths of righteousness.

In John 21, that same risen Shepherd affirms His love and entrusts you as he did Peter with His own flock —“Feed my sheep.”

John 21:16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

Together these passages show a God who not only provides personal restoration but also commissions those who have committed themselves to his service to continue His work of shepherding.
