All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name

All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name

All hail the power of Jesus' name!
Let angels prostrate fall.
Bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown him Lord of all.
Bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown him Lord of all!

The Same Power That Keeps the Universe Together

It is a proclamation. A thunderous declaration that at the centre of all creation stands a Name charged with all authority, unstoppable power, and eternal preeminence…The name of Jesus Christ

The power of God is not abstract. It is not distant. It is not theoretical. It is alive—embodied in Jesus Christ.

When we say “All hail,” we are calling heaven and earth to attention. We are summoning angels, nations, kings, and broken hearts alike to bow before the King of kings that cannot be shaken. The name of Jesus carries the weight of eternity. It commands storms to cease. It calls the dead to rise. It breaks chains forged in the darkest valleys of despair.

Every miracle recorded—water turned to wine, the blind receiving sight, the dead are raised—testifies to a power that knows no boundary, no law, no limit.

The hymn does not merely proclaim His power—it invites participation. “Bring forth the royal diadem, and crown Him Lord of all.” This is a call to surrender. To “hail” His power is to bow willingly. It is to lay down pride, fear, control, and declare that His authority is good, just, and filled with love. God’s power is not tyrannical; it is redemptive. It does not crush the humble—it lifts them.

There is something deeply humbling about the realization that the One who commands heaven’s armies also knows our names.  The power of God is not distant lightning in the sky—it is near, personal, and transformative.

The Peace Found in Crowning Him Lord of All

And so we hail—not with empty words, but with the weight of eternity behind them. You hail the power of Jesus' name because you have seen it work. You have witnessed it in the lives of those who were lost and are now found. You have felt it in our own hearts, transforming our deepest wounds into sources of wisdom and compassion. This name represents the ultimate victory: not of force over force, but of love over hate, life over death, hope over despair.

In this name lies the power that will ultimately restore all things. Every injustice will be answered. Every tear will be wiped away. Every broken heart will be made whole. When you hail this power, you are not merely reciting ancient words—you are declaring your trust in a future where suffering ends and the Lord reigns over the universe. You are acknowledging that despite the chaos of your present, you serve a God whose power is absolute, whose love is infinite, and whose promises are sure.

This is why we hail. This is why you bow. This is why, across all the ages and all the earth, countless voices rise in unison: All hail the power of Jesus' name. In those words lives your deepest longing, your greatest hope, and your truest assurance.
