The Reward That Awaits the Servants of the Lord

The Reward No One Else Could Give

Colossians 3:24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

When the King Settles Every Account

In Colossians 3:24, the Holy Spirit pivots your gaze from the immediate, often ungrateful tasks of your daily life to a far more stable and glorious horizon. To "receive the reward" is the final, definitive resolution of a life lived in the service of the King.

1. The Source: Of the Lord

The most critical part of this passage is the origin of the compensation. Paul is writing to you, who may have been overlooked, underpaid, or even mistreated.

  • The Audit: Your true employer is not a person or an organization; it is the Lord Christ. Human managers may miss your late nights, your integrity in the "regions beyond" of the office, or your "meekness" under pressure. God does not.
  • The Certitude of the Debt: Because the reward comes "of the Lord," it is not subject to economic downturns or human whim. It is a guaranteed payout from the one who "trieth our hearts" and is faithful.

2. The Nature: The Reward of the Inheritance

There is a profound theological paradox here. Usually, a reward is earned by labor, but an inheritance is received by birth.

  • The Quickening Link: This connects back to the "Last Adam." Because you have been quickened by His Spirit, you are now a legal heir. The "work" you do is not to earn the family name, but because you carry it.
  • The Unfading Quality: Unlike an earthly paycheck that is spent and forgotten, this reward is an "inheritance"—it is substantial, eternal, and "furnished" by the Righteous Paymaster Himself.

3. The Motivation: For Ye Serve the Lord Christ

This is the "blueprint" for transformed service. When you realize that every report disseminated, every note written to a friend, and every act of "longsuffering" is a direct service to the Lord Christ, the mundane becomes majestic. You are not just fulfilling a contract; you are King’s faithful servant.

Your Crown is Coming

You have spent many days wondering if the sacrifices you make in the shadows are truly seen. You have worked until your hands were weary and your heart felt thin, often receiving little more than silence or further demands in return. You have held fast to "sound words" when it would have been easier to compromise, and you have served with a "perfect and upright" heart even when no one was watching to applaud.

You must lift your eyes from the dust of the daily grind.

The Lord Christ is not an indifferent Master. He has seen every hidden act of faithfulness and every silent victory over the "living soul’s" exhaustion. There is a "reward of inheritance" with your name on it—a weight of glory that is being carefully prepared for you even now. You are not working for a fading "living" but for an eternal "inheritance."

Your quiet obedience, your hidden sacrifices, and your labor of love although unnoticed by others; the Lord will not dismiss. When you finally stand before the Lord, the Quickener," He will not look at your pedigree or statistics or your status; He will look at your heart which He has tried and found faithful. In that moment, the weight of every trial will fall away, replaced by the staggering glory of His reward. You will realize that every ounce of strength you gave was an investment in an eternity that can never fade.

Standfast, for the King is coming, and His reward is with Him and you will find that He is not only the Giver of the prize, but He is the Prize.

The King That Died For You

The Suffering Saviour Bring You Salvation

Matthew 2:2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

John 19:5 Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!

Two scenes—the cradle and the cross—is to witness the complete arc of the Gospel. They are linked by a single, haunting question that echoes from the wisemen to the halls of Pilate: "Who is this King?"

The Question of Identity: From Starlight to Shadow

In Matthew 2, the question is asked in expectation. The wisemen arrive with the dust of distant lands on their robes, asking, "Where is he that is born King?" They are looking for a throne, a palace, and a scepter. They follow a celestial beacon because they recognize that this child is the "Master Builder" of the universe, the one for whom the stars themselves act as heralds.

In John 19, the question is answered in execution. Pilate stands before a bloodied, mocked figure and cries out, "Behold the man!" The gold of the wisemen has been replaced by a purple robe of mockery; the star in the east is eclipsed by a crown of thorns. Pilate thinks he is presenting a broken prisoner, but he is actually presenting the "Quickening Spirit" in the very moment of His greatest victory.

The Harmony of the Two Crowns

  • The King of the Jews: The wisemen recognized His authority by birth. He didn't earn His kingship; it was His by nature. He is the original blueprint of humanity, the Last Adam.
  • The Man of Sorrows: Pilate revealed His access. By becoming "The Man," Jesus entered the "regions beyond" of human suffering. He took the "living soul" of the first Adam, which was subject to death, and brought it to the cross to be transformed.

The harmony lies here: The King was born to wear the thorns. He didn't lose His crown at the cross; He defined it. The star led to the King, but the thorns led to the Kingdom.

The Gospel’s Power in You

You stand at the crossroads of that ancient query and the crucifixion’s silent declaration. In the same star that guided the wisemen, the gospel shines on your heart, inviting you to see beyond the crown of thorns to the crown of life that follows. By believing, on the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ you step into a living relationship with the King who entered your world not to dominate, but to die for you.

Who is the King of the Jews? You are faced with the same question. Will you seek to worship him or will you reject him? The power of the gospel of Jesus Christ is that it can transform your life, giving you a new perspective and a new purpose.

You have the power to choose. The gospel of Jesus Christ is not just a historical event, but a living, breathing message that speaks directly to your heart.  Accept Jesus' free gift of salvation today.

The Ultimate Seal of Approval

When God Places the Gospel in Your Hands

1 Thessalonians 2:4 But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.

God’s Allowance

The Holy Ghost of God notes that you are "allowed of God." Meaning being tested and found fit for the Lord’s service.

  • Before you ever speak to anyone, you must realize that you have already been audited by God. Your standing is not based on your popularity," but based upon the approval of the Lord

The Trust of the Gospel

The phrase “put in trust with the gospel” carries profound significance. It denotes the God given assignment, the blessed responsibility entrusted to you and other believers. To be “put in trust” means that God has chosen you as a steward of the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ—the good news. This is not merely a privilege, but an enormous confidence God places in you.

Your Role as Stewards

When you are put in trust with the gospel, you become the bearers of a transformative message and power that changes lives. It’s a call to action and authenticity; you speak not to please men but to honor the Lord. This distinction is crucial. In a world so often driven by the quest for approval and acceptance, your true value lies in your commitment to convey the message that Jesus saves, with integrity and sincerity.

The Sacred Trust

To be "put in trust with the Gospel" is the highest level of security clearance in the Kingdom of God.

  • The Deposit:  You are a guardian of the "sound words". You do not have the authority to edit the blueprint, dilute the message, or soften the "quickening" power of the truth to suit the listener.
  • The Audience of One: Because the trust comes from God, the accountability remains with the Lord. Paul makes it clear: the goal is "not as pleasing men." Men's opinions are shifting sand; God's heart is the "plumb line."

The Heart of the Matter

The Lord examines your motivations, seeking authenticity. This search for truth reflects His love and desire for you to genuinely represent Him. Your task is to give or impact the grace, mercy, and charity found in the gospel of Jesus Christ, untainted by the fleeting expectations of human approval. It invites you to reflect its power in your life.

The Light in Your Hands

You must understand that the Gospel you carry is not a fragile thing that requires your protection; To be put in trust with this message is to hold the only power in the universe capable of raising the dead.

When you speak, you are not merely sharing a philosophy or a nostalgic tradition. You are proclaiming the "quickening spirit" of Jesus Christ into the dark and "regions beyond" to the sinners soul. The Gospel is the unbreakable grip of God reaching through your voice to pull a drowning soul to shore.

You do not have to worry about being "enough" for the task, for the power is not in the messenger—it is in the Message. Let the fear of man fall away in the light of Jesus Christ light the way.

The Gospel

1 Corinthians 15:3  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Do you believe this?

Alive and Awake By the Quickening Spirit

The Power of the Last Adam

1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

The Dichotomy

In the architecture of eternity, 1 Corinthians 15:45 stands as the great bridge between what you were born into and what you were born for. It describes two "Adams," and in doing so, it describes the two fundamental versions of humanity. The Holy Ghost of God, contact is seismic and profound: two Adams, two modes of life, two natures and two different endings.

The First Adam: A Living Soul

The first Adam represents the "natural" man. In the Genesis account, God breathed into him, and he became a living soul.

  • The Direction of Life: The first Adam was a recipient. He was a vessel that received life from an outside source.
  • The Limitation: Because his life was contingent and biological, it was subject to decay, gravity, and eventually, death. He represents the "blueprint" of our earthly existence—beautiful, but fragile and prone to breaking.

The Last Adam: A Quickening Spirit

When Paul speaks of the "Last Adam" (Jesus Christ), he isn't just describing a better version of the first man; he is describing a being of a completely different order. He is a quickening spirit.

  • The Power of "Quickening": In archaic English, "quick" means alive, but "quickening" means life-giving.
  • The Source of Life: While the first Adam was a consumer of life, the Last Adam is the source of it. He does not merely possess life; He radiates it. He is the sun that generates heat rather than the rock that merely absorbs it.
  • The Divine Shift: This is the pivot of the Gospel. The Last Adam does not just come to fix the first Adam; He comes to replace the "living soul" model with a "spirit-empowered" model that death cannot touch.

The Work of the Quickener

To be a "quickening spirit" means that Christ has the authority to impart His own nature to others. This is why the Gospel is not merely a set of rules, but a transfusion.

  1. Internal Resuscitation: He reaches into the "dead" places of the human experience—the regions of grief, failure, and stagnation—and breathes a new type of life into them.
  2. Beyond Biological: This life is not dependent on your health, your circumstances, or your stamina. It is a spiritual vitality that can thrive even when the physical "living soul" is failing.
  3. The Final Answer to the Grave: The quickening spirit is the engine of the resurrection. It is the guarantee that the "blueprint" of your life will one day be fully realized in a form that is incorruptible.

The Last Adam is Jesus Christ

You know the weight of trying to sustain your own soul, the frustration of watching your best intentions unravel, and the quiet fear that your internal "battery" is slowly draining toward zero. You have lived as a "living soul" bound to worry, frustration, fear and death.

But the Gospel of Jesus Christ is not a set of instructions on how to fix your life; it is the announcement that the Quickener has arrived and want to see you, now.

You are being offered a salvation that is more than a legal pardon; it is a spiritual resuscitation. The moment you the free gift of Jesus Christ, His "quickening spirit" begins to surge through the deadened regions of your soul.

You do not have to white-knuckle your way into heaven. You can be quickened by the gospel Jesus Christ today, right now.  You can be regenerated to be made of the image of Jesus Christ…

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to respond back to this post we will be more than happy to talk with you.

When God Doesn’t Explain; The Purpose Behind Your Pain

The Divine Question That Tests the Soul

Job 1:8 And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

The Lord ask a profound question, tucked into the opening movements of the Book of Job, is one of the most startling moments in scripture. It is a flex by God that is unrivalled in the Old Testament. Before the storm clouds gather or the tragedies strike, there is a conversation in heaven where God points to you and ask, have you considered my servant...

When God Calls Your Name

The word ”consider" means to set your heart upon or to contemplate. It implies an intense, investigative scrutiny. God isn't just mentioning Job in passing; He is inviting the Adversary, your enemy to look at the "raw data" of Job’s life—his choices, and his character.

The Fourfold Integrity

God defines Job not by his wealth or his status, but by four specific internal markers. These are the traits that made him "singular" in the earth:

  • Perfect (Blameless): This doesn't mean sinless perfection, but rather "wholeness." Job’s public life matched his private life. There were no hidden compartments in his character.
  • Upright: He was straight. In a world of crooked deals and moral gray areas, Job functioned as a plumb line. He was reliable.
  • Fearing God: This was the root of his wisdom. He lived with a constant awareness of God’s authority, which kept him grounded and humble.
  • Eschewing Evil: He didn't just avoid evil; he "turned away" from it with active intent. He was vigilant, recognizing that integrity requires constant maintenance.

The Weight of Being Noticed

There is a heavy irony in this passage. We often pray for God to "notice" us, but for Job, being noticed by God is exactly what triggered his season of intense suffering. God’s confidence in Job’s character was so high that He was willing to let that character be tested in the ultimate "operational environment" of loss and pain.

Job was being watched by heaven, not as a target of anger, but as a pattern of good work. He was the proof that a human could love God for who He is, not just for what He gives.

When the Scrutiny Falls on You

What if heaven has already spoken your name? What if, even now, your life is being weighed to test your faithfulness? You may never hear the words aloud, but the reality remains: you are seen, known, and understood far beyond what you can measure. And if the day comes when everything you rely on begins to fall away, it will not be to prove something to God. It will be to reveal what has been quietly formed within you, your faithfulness, integrity and humility. So when the silence feels heavy and the trial feels undeserved, remember this: The Lord could be using you to prove something to the world.

The Gospel Demands More Than Words—It Is A Call To You

Into the Unknown: Carrying the Gospel Where No One Has Gone

2 Corinthians 10:16 To preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to boast in another man's line of things made ready to our hand.

Understanding the Gospel's Expansive Call

The passage calls believers to extend the gospel of Jesus Christ into untouched territories rather than taking credit for work already established by others.  Paul's exhortation to you in 2 Corinthians 10:16, carries profound implications for how you understand and exemplify your Christian faith.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ as the Central Mission

The gospel of Jesus Christ is the core message of salvation—that through Christ's death, burial and resurrection, according to the scriptures you have access to redemption, adoption, and eternal life by the power of God. This isn't merely a doctrine to be intellectually assented to; it's a transformative truth meant to be proclaimed to every creature.

When Paul speaks of "preaching the gospel in the regions beyond," he's emphasizing that the gospel's reach should constantly expand into new territories, new generations, and new hearts. The gospel isn't meant to be confined to comfortable, established edifices or familiar audiences. It's a living, dynamic proclamation that pushes boundaries and dares to ventures into spiritual wilderness.

The Danger of Spiritual Pride and Borrowed Glory

The second part of the passage warns against boasting "in another man's line of things made ready to our hand." This speaks directly to the temptation of taking credit for spiritual work.

The Holy Ghost of God is addressing a subtle but deadly form of spiritual pride: the tendency to build your ministry reputation on foundations laid by others. It's easy to:

  • You settle into established congregations and claim credit for their spiritual health
  • You incorporate conveniences into the ministries to inflate your growth
  • You boast in numbers and successes by pilfering other fields
  • You rest on your laurels

The gospel of Jesus Christ demands authenticity and integrity. When you take credit for another's labor, you dishonour both the sacrifice of Jesus  Christ and the Holy Spirit's perfect work. You also compromise the very gospel you claim to preach—a gospel rooted in humility, sacrifice, and the power of God.

The Call to Sacrifice

2 Corinthians 10:16, invites believers into evangelism the difficult, unglamorous work of taking the gospel where it hasn't yet reached. This might mean:

  • Proclaiming Christ with those you work with
  • Engaging with belief systems and worldviews hostile to the gospel of Jesus Christ
  • Building bible studies from scratch
  • Accepting the yoke of the gospel of Jesus Christ without guaranteed success

The gospel of Jesus Christ thrives where it's not yet rooted. It transforms hardened hearts, breaks the yoke of spiritual bondage, and creates children of God. But this work requires courage, humility, and willingness to labor without immediate recognition.

A Personal Reckoning

Here's where this becomes personal for you: You are being invited to ask yourself whether you're truly advancing the gospel of Christ.

Are you content to work within systems already built, taking comfort in established structures while the gospel remains unknown to those around you? Or will you have the courage to venture into your own "regions beyond"—the difficult conversations, the resistant hearts, the unfamiliar spiritual territories that God has placed within your reach?

The gospel of Jesus Christ doesn't need your boasting; it needs your sacrifice. It doesn't require that you build monuments; it demands that you lay down your reputation, your comfort, and your need for recognition at the feet of Jesus. When you do, you'll discover something extraordinary: that the deepest joy, the most authentic fulfillment, and the truest spiritual victory comes not from inheriting someone else's work, but from pioneering new ground for Christ's kingdom.

The question before you is this: Will you be faithful to preach where others have not yet gone, content to plant seeds in soil no one has yet cultivated, and willing to let Christ alone receive the glory?

Eyewitnesses to Glory: The Risen Author of Life

From Execution to Exaltation: The Triumph of the Prince of Life

Acts 3:15 And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses

Understanding "The Prince of Life"

This phrase, drawn from Acts 3:15, carries profound theological and historical weight. "The Prince of life" is a title for Jesus Christ that emphasizes His supreme authority over existence itself. The word "prince" here doesn't suggest a subordinate ruler, but rather the almighty protector, sustainer of all life and the one who holds dominion over the very force of vitality that animates creation.

The Gravity of Sin

Killed the Prince of Life: This part of the passage refers to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, where He was put to death by the hands of those who did not recognize Him as the Source of life. His death, however, was not the end. You did not merely reject a teacher or silence a voice; your sins struck at the very source of life itself. The one who stood before you was not only innocent, not only righteous, but the very origin and author of all that breathes and lives. The “Prince of life” is not a title of honor alone; it is a declaration of essence. Life does not simply come from him…life is sustained by him.

The Reversal: Death Cannot Hold Life

Yet the passage immediately pivots to something extraordinary: "whom God hath raised from the dead." This is the pivot point. Death, which seemed to be the final word, was not. The Prince of life could not remain dead because death has no authority over its own source. God's resurrection of Christ is not merely a rescue or a restoration; it's a vindication of the sinless life of Jesus Christ and a demonstration of the power of God put on full display.

The raising of Christ demonstrates that life is ultimately indestructible. The very power that the killers thought they exercised—the power to end—was itself ended. They killed, but they could not keep dead the one they killed.

The Witness

We are witnesses.” Not philosophers debating an idea, not storytellers embellishing a legend—witnesses. Those who speak have seen, have known, have stood on the other side of despair and encountered something that could not be explained away. A witness does not only speak for themselves; A witness speaks so that others must decide. Because once testimony is given, silence is no longer neutral. Your testimony or statement must stand, truthful, verifiable,  immovable, echoing through time. It does not demand blind acceptance, but it does demand a response; because now, you have heard the testimony.

And you must decide what kind of witness you will become.

Opportunity to Know The Prince of Life

You stand at the crossroads of history and eternity, faced with the profound truth that the very Source of life, Jesus Christ, was killed, by sinful man, yet raised again by the power of God. You might wonder, what does this mean for you? It means that death is not the end; it means that forgiveness and new life are available to you. You have been given a chance to experience life in all its fullness, not just a fleeting existence but an eternal one that starts now and continues forever.

In the light of this, you are invited to embrace the life that Jesus offers. You can find forgiveness, peace, and purpose in Him. You are not just a passerby in the story of humanity; you are a participant in Jesus Christ narrative of love, sacrifice, and resurrection. You have the opportunity to know the Prince of Life personally and to let His life transform yours in ways you never thought possible.

A Living Hope in a Dying World

The Call to Readiness 1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that aske...
